Modular web application for professional wind park monitoring
Solare Datensysteme GmbH (SDS) is one of the leading companies for solar monitoring, smart energy and feed-in management. With its solutions, SDS is making a significant contribution to the successful integration of renewable energy into a smart power grid.
In the course of SDS’s recent expansion by engaging in monitoring of wind farms, umwerk was commissioned to develop a web-based application for professional wind park monitoring. On the one hand, the challenge of the project was to meet the highly diverse requirements of the various wind farm user groups. In addition, top performance and high scalability were required, as well as an intuitive user interface and state-of-the-art UI design.
In order to cover all functional and performance requirements, we designed and implemented the web application as a modular system in three separate layers: the Frontend that is visible for users, the business logic comprising Middle-Tier and the Backend, which receives live data of all connected wind parks. Based on the modular setup, implementing new features is a very fast and simple process. The provided solution is highly scalable, flexible and characterized by an outstanding intuitive user interface.
