Trade-App
Farmers can sell their products (e.g. wheat or rapeseed) to customers (wholesalers and distributors). The price offered changes depending on the market price, demand and other market factors. Prior to the launch of the BayWa Trade App, trading was carried out analogously on the basis of personal contacts via telephone.
The BayWa Trade App for farmers simplifies this trading process. BayWa end customers can view the current sales price for their product at any time. Price trends from various third-party providers give producers orientation in the market by means of dynamic diagrams. Within the app, farmers can also request a quote from BayWa. There is also the option of setting alerts for price changes and receiving push notifications.

Challenge
The requirements for the BayWa Trade app were developed together. The aim was to develop a user-friendly app that could be flexibly adapted to future changes. Initially, an MVP was to be developed very quickly for further internal coordination. The involvement of third-party providers (internal and external) in the product required very good coordination in the project.
Solution
At the beginning of the project, the focus was on the joint development of architecture and core features in several workshops.
A functional MVP, which already contained some basic features, was developed within a short period of time. In close coordination with the customer, further features were then gradually developed, tested and finally published as releases. Our team adapted the project plan in an agile manner in keeping with the customer’s needs. The focus was always on trust-based coordination with various stakeholders, such as the customer itself, but also with the third-party providers involved.
